Extractions & Impacted Wisdom Teeth
The most common reason for referral is extraction of teeth with irreversible inflammation, a fractured root, or deep decay. Regular teeth are removed with atraumatic forceps and elevators to minimize bone trauma, whereas impacted wisdom teeth require incising the gum and separating roots under magnification or a microscope. Thanks to prior CBCT imaging, we know exactly where the inferior alveolar nerve runs, significantly reducing the risk of lip numbness.
The extraction itself often takes just a few minutes; after dressing the wound, we apply a cold compress and maintain continual contact through our dedicated patient app.
Root-Tip Resection – Endodontic Microsurgery
When root canal treatment fails to achieve full healing, root-tip resection may be an alternative. The procedure is performed by an endodontist using microsurgical techniques: through a small bone window, the inflamed tissue is removed and the canal is sealed externally using MTA material. The surgery is done under magnification and with bone cooling, which speeds healing and reduces swelling.
Frenulum Plastic Surgery & Cyst Removal
A very short lip or tongue frenulum can lead to gum recession and speech issues. The frenulum-release procedure is performed under local anesthesia using a scalpel or piezoelectric micro-instrument, which reduces bleeding and shortens healing time. Cysts are removed under local anesthesia, and any defect is filled with a biomaterial that gradually replaces the patient’s own bone.
Bone Augmentation & Sinus Lift
In places where bone has atrophied due to long-term tooth loss, we perform augmentation procedures using bone substitute materials. If there is insufficient volume in the maxillary sinus area, we perform a sinus lift: using the open method when 8-10 mm of bone needs to be added, or a closed method when deficiencies are smaller, allowing for implant placement at the same time. Although full implant reconstructions are described in a separate service, it’s worth knowing that bone preparation is handled within our oral surgery scope.
Comfort & Safety
Every procedure is preceded by a detailed interview and assessment of possible contraindications. During the procedure, we use:
anesthesia administered at a slow rate, virtually pain-free,
piezosurgical tools – ultrasonic cutting is precise and spares tissue,
the “STOP” gesture – raising your hand immediately pauses work, giving you a sense of control.
After more extensive procedures, the doctor calls in the evening to make sure that pain and swelling are within normal limits, and in the patient app you’ll have access to a video with recommendations (cold compresses 20/20 min, soft diet, no smoking).
